A relaxed, heartfelt celebration in the heart of East SussexPhotography by Burst Photos

Eloise and Benās wedding day was a beautiful blend of intimacy, personality, and pure joy ā the kind of celebration that reminds you why photographing weddings is such a privilege. Set in the charming town of Lewes, surrounded by historic streets and colourful gardens, their day unfolded with warmth, laughter, and unforgettable moments from start to finish.

šæ Morning Preparations at the AirBnB
The day began in a cosy AirBnB just a short drive from Lewes Registry Office, where Eloise was getting ready with her bridesmaids. The atmosphere was full of excitement ā laughter, hairspray, music, and the kind of supportive chaos that always makes bridal prep so special.
Capturing these moments is incredibly important. Morning preparations tell the story behind the storyĀ ā the details, personalities, and emotions that build up to the ceremony. From Eloiseās dress hanging in the window to her bridesmaids helping with final touches, these images add depth and meaning to the final gallery.
Once everyone was ready, Eloise stepped into the classic Ford MustangĀ waiting outside. With the bridesmaids waving her off, she enjoyed a short but memorable ride into Lewes to meet her groom.

š An Intimate Ceremony at Lewes Registry Office
Lewes Registry Office is one of East Sussexās hidden gems ā warm, elegant, and surrounded by the beautiful Southover Grange Gardens. Eloise and Benās ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, shared with close family and friends. There were smiles, happy tears, and the unmistakable look two people share when nothing else in the world matters.
The space felt personal and relaxed ā perfect for a couple who wanted their day to feel genuine and completely them.

šø Group Photos in the Gardens
After the ceremony, everyone stepped into the stunning Southover Grange Gardens. With blooming flowers, old stone walls, and soft natural light, itās one of the best portrait locations in Lewes.
We captured group photos, family moments, and lots of laughter. The gardens gave us space to create natural, candid images ā the kind that feel real and unposed.
This is also why I always recommend setting aside a little time to wander off for a few intimate newlywed portraits. These quiet moments allow you to breathe, connect, and enjoy each otherās company away from the crowd. Couples always treasure these photos the most because they reflect the emotion and excitement of the day.

š A Mustang Ride to the Village Hall
Leaving Lewes behind, Eloise and Ben enjoyed another ride in the Mustang before arriving at their beautifully decorated village hall. Here, friends and family gathered for the confetti moment, showering the newlyweds with colour and celebration ā always one of the most joyful parts of any wedding day.

š Celebrations in the Village Hall
The village hall had been personally decoratedĀ with so much love and creativity ā handcrafted details, warm lighting, and touches that reflected the couple perfectly.
The reception began with heartfelt speeches:⨠Eloiseās father⨠The best man⨠And finally, an emotional speech from Ben himself
Each one brought laughter, tears, and a room full of love.
Afterwards, guests spilled out into the old walled gardenĀ for fun and games. From lawn activities to relaxed mingling, it was the perfect setting for capturing candid, storytelling images that show the personality of the day.

š° Cake Cutting & Country Band First Dance
Eloise and Ben cut their beautiful wedding cake ā lovingly made by Eloiseās mother ā before heading back inside for their first dance. A live country bandĀ set the mood, giving the moment an upbeat, rustic charm that fit their personalities perfectly.
And from there? The party carried on long into the night, with laughter, dancing, and the kind of memories that will stay with everyone forever.

šø Why the Little Details Matter
Weddings arenāt just about the big headline moments ā the first kiss, the vows, the first dance. The smaller details are just as important:
The dress hanging quietly before the day begins
The decorations lovingly put together
The reactions during speeches
The subtle looks between newlyweds
The laughter during morning prep
The tiny touches that make your day uniquely yours
These are the things that tell the full story. Theyāre what bring your wedding album to life.
